Within the last two years I've been a speaker at countless chiropractic seminars and homecomings, and I hear countless horror stories of recent grads and experienced doctors who have been victims of bad chiropractic coaching and useless management consulting. If something sounds like it's really too good to be true, then we have to trust our instincts on these things. When a DC joins one of these useless companies for fear of failure, it can have some serious consequences. There are some real "piranhas" out there that feed on desperate chiropractors, and it's time someone put a stop to it.

If you join a consulting group, make sure they have plenty of value to provide to you rather than just empty promises. Personally, I feel than many are overpriced and are just out to make a buck and could care less about the average chiropractor. I say this because some chiropractic practice consulting groups are using marketing tactics and strategies that died in the 1970's. The world changes periodically, not to mention the people in it, so it's important to find a company that's adaptable to the new ways of marketing and doing business in today's high-tech age.

If you need help from a professional to get your chiropractic practice reaching its ultimate potential, you need to first ask yourself what specific areas need help. You don't need a "blanket remedy" that generally puts more life into your business; you need specific tools that combat your specific problems and concerns. Odds are, you need help with marketing and bringing new patients through your door. These are the most common things. I'm not saying that every chiropractic consultant is a complete fraud. There are some who deserve their respect and their techniques are proven. When you want to find one that's truly worth their weight in salt, ask your colleagues for recommendations. That way you know you're getting someone who is the real deal. However, make sure they're experienced in today's new and thriving market; otherwise, they're a waste of time and money.

How Will You Know You've Reached Your Goals?

A lot of us tend to start out in the direction of goals, never quite knowing exactly what it is that we want, and how we'll know once we have it.

That seems a little reckless don't you think? You wouldn't drive somewhere with no destination, would you? Is that even possible? Driving somewhere, and not driving anywhere? You would just wander until the gas tank ran on empty, or until you wound up somewhere close to what you had in mind, but not quite it.

That is just like in life, and just like in business.

If you don't have a specific place in mind, you really aren't going anywhere. You've got to give yourself something to aim for. You must know why you want the things that you want for specific reasons, specific purposes. Too vague, and you'll just end up spinning your wheels.

You must have your destination already planned out so you can get there eventually.

It might sound nuts, but it makes perfect sense. If you don't have a clear idea in mind, how will you know if the tasks you are doing every day are moving you towards, or away from your vision?

You can't.

You won't be able to make the life you want, if you do not know what that life is.

Now, I'm not saying you have to know exactly how you'll get there, and exactly how it will look once you have arrived, because if you did, your time would be better spent picking lottery numbers than working. All I'm saying, is that you should have a picture of that final goal that will allow you to move in one direction, and not a million at once.

What should that picture look like?

It is all up to you, and only you. You know what pushes your buttons and what drives you to get things done, so you have to decide how that picture appears to you. There are some pointers you will want to keep in mind when making that image.

You must begin by finding out what the core of your goal is. Find out why you want the things that you want, and make sure to get specific. The more specific you are, the better.

With goal in mind, you will next begin to ask yourself how you will know you have reached that objective. This might be you in a brand new Mercedes, or you being handed several thousand dollars in cash. Whatever this sign may be, see it as brightly as possible.

These two simple steps will help you achieve more than you ever thought possible in a very short amount of time. Knowing where you are headed will keep you going in one right direction, instead of a million that will never get you anywhere.

Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site's visitor would only have to visit the advertiser's site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser's website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant's side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

A critical factor in any business is developing an effective pricing policy that will maximize profits. Maximum profit does not necessarily result from selling goods at the highest possible profit margins. An important factor in any pricing decision is to know the actual cost of doing business and the cost of each product sold. Determining the actual cost of doing business necessitates careful, accurate analysis. Of course, no one would be expected to calculate the cost of doing business with complete accuracy. You just need a fairly close working number.

It does, however, need to be fairly accurate since failing to calculate all actual costs properly to ensure that the profit margin is enough to cover those costs is a frequent cause of business failure. Many business owners actually end up selling their products at a loss without even knowing it.

Before setting the price on any of your products you must estimate the cost of labor, raw materials, variable overhead costs as well as research and development. As costs fluctuate over time you may need to re-evaluate these numbers to make sure they continue to be accurate.

Regardless of the strategy that is used to maximize profitability, the method for costing products is basic. It involves four main categories: Direct Material Costs, Direct Labor Costs, Overhead Expenses and Profit Desired.
